Newt Gingrich was expected to, and did in fact suspend his campaign for president in a long winded speech about all the ideas he want’s to see evolve into policy one day. He even mentioned the Moon Colony. He made a few slight remarks about how Mitt Romney would be thousands times better than Obama as president, but never flat out endorsed him. Either Gingrich is still bitter over Romney’s attack ads, or he’s waiting for a later time to hold another press conference to endorse Romney. The race is officially now Romney Vs. Ron Paul.

Even though Newt Gingrich has announced he’ll end his presidential campaign next week, the New York Times reports he’s still campaigning. “One of the quirky indulgences of modern campaigns is that candidates announce their intent to run for president on multiple occasions — essentially, stunts to milk media attention. They announce the formation of exploratory committees, announce that they intend to run, announce that they are actually running, etc. Ever the innovator, Mr. Gingrich has applied that ritual to quitting.”
