How the Supreme Court Deregulated Campaigns

Posted by on Monday, 14 May, 2012

Jeffrey Toobin has an excellent look at how Chief Justice John Roberts orchestrated the Citizens United decision to effectively remove campaign finance limits. “It was once liberals who were associated with using the courts to overturn the work of the democratically elected branches of government, but the current Court has matched contempt for Congress with a disdain for many of the Court’s own precedents. When the Court announced its final ruling on Citizens United, on January 21, 2010, the vote was five to four and the majority opinion was written by Anthony Kennedy. Above all, though, the result represented a triumph for Chief Justice [John] Roberts… As American politics assumes its new form in the post-Citizens United era, the credit or the blame goes mostly to him.” “By the customary vote of five-to-four, with an opinion by Roberts, the Court declared the system unconstitutional… The Roberts Court, it appears, will guarantee moneyed interests the freedom to raise and spend any amount, from any source, at any time, in order to win elections.”

Obama’s million dollar pig Bill Maher -Corporations and GOP Congress keeping economy sluggish so ‘blackie’ isn’t reelected (Video)

Posted by on Saturday, 12 May, 2012

Blackie? Calling Obama blackie would be considered racist if any “evil” conservative on TV or radio called him that. If I called him that i’d be branded a racist, though this site isn’t big enough to for the main Soros funded sites to really care. But now Obama’s million dollar pig Bill Maher is whining about how those evil corporations and the GOP controlled House are keeping economy “sluggish” so ‘blackie’ isn’t reelected. Is ANYTHING ever Obama’s fault? Or would that be racist too? Hey Mahertard! If you hate corporations so much, quit your “job” at HBO!

Purging of the Senate Republicans

Posted by on Wednesday, 9 May, 2012

Nate Silver notes that of the 27 most moderate Republican senators who served in 2007, at most six will return to the Congress in 2013: John McCain, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Thad Cochran, Lamar Alexander and Charles Grassley. “The other 21 have been ousted from the Congress in some way. Eight of them retired or have announced plans to do so. One, Craig Thomas of Wyoming, died in office. Another, Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania, switched parties, then lost the primary election as a Democrat. Nine of them lost the general election as Republicans. And two were defeated in a Republican primary contest, not counting Ms. Murkowski, who lost hers in 2010 but won re-election anyway as a write-in candidate. In total, that’s an attrition rate of 78 percent.”

Obama’s top five broken promises to Latinos

Posted by on Friday, 4 May, 2012

Obama has made too many promises to not only Latinos , but all other Americans to list. So let’s just show the top five promises Obama has failed to keep that he made to Latinos in 2008. All Americans including Latinos were promised unemployment under 8% after the failed porkulus. Obama promised Latinos that college would be affordable. Instead, under Obama the average cost of college is at an all time high, and average student debt is $25,000. Obama promised to save 9 million homes from be foreclosed on. Instead, 7 million homes have been foreclosed on, most of which are in heavily Latino neighborhoods. Obama promised immigration reform. Instead, he spent his first two years with a Marxist Democrat controlled Congress ramming through ObamaCARE, Dodd-Frank, and was busy golfing and vacationing. And finally, and somewhat ironic, is that Obama promised once ObamaCARE passed, health care costs would drop as much as $2,500 per year. Instead, since the passage of ObamaCARE, health care costs have skyrocketed.
