… it’s hard to tell the difference . With no agreement in sight on how to close the state’s remaining $15.4 billion deficit, some Democrats are discussing targeting GOP districts with steeper cuts if legislative Republicans will not vote for a solution that includes taxes. “You don’t want to pay for government, well then, you get less of it,” Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg told reporters Wednesday. If other options fail, the Sacramento Democrat said he is willing to consider a targeted cuts approach like one laid out by Treasurer Bill Lockyer, who has suggested that an all-cuts state budget should focus on the districts of lawmakers who oppose putting $11 billion in tax extensions before voters. Neither Lockyer nor Steinberg have identified exactly what type of services could be affected or how such cuts would be made. But with Brown saying the only acceptable alternative to putting taxes on the ballot would be an all-cuts budget, they said it was only fair to put targeted reductions on the table. “It’s really a simple concept,” said Lockyer spokesman Tom Dresslar. “If we have to adopt an all-cuts budget because voters aren’t even given the chance to decide the tax issue, then we engage in another democratic process. The folks who want less government get less government. It’s not vindictive, it’s democracy in action.”

I guess it’s par for the course if you an employee of MSNBC (NBC for that matter.) Bash America to prop up another country. In this case it was British hack Martin Bashir at the royal wedding jizzing over how “well behaved” the Brits were at the royal wedding compared to how Americans would have been. Of course Americans would have let this tax payer funded farce tax place in the first place. We don’t have a monarchy and no President would get away with waisting tax payer money to fund a lavish wedding for one of their kids. Of course far left progressives like Bashir must have forgotten about this past December when these same “well behaved” Brits attacked Prince Charles car . Remember how well behaved these Brits were when the UK announced college tuition hikes? I could find thousands of other stories about how “well behaved” these Brits are when it comes to the G20, government cuts, or anything else the far left loons in that country don’t like.

Bill Clinton is obviously a bitter little Democrat. He failed epically to get ClintonCARE or HillaryCARE passed in the 1990s, and lost the House in what was then a historic election in 1994. Fast forward to 2010 and Obama passes an unconstitutional ObamaCARE bill, and suffers the biggest congressional house loss in 70 years. Also back in the 1990s CNN was called the Clinton News Network, so it would figure he would give them an interview to discuss ObamaCARE. Slick Willy doesn’t mention Monica Lewinsky but says he thinks the Supreme Court will strike down the unconstitutional individual mandate in ObamaCARE. “Well, I think – I guess, you know, there’s some chance, given how political it is, the courts, that they would strike down the mandatory purchase, although I find it amazing that they would I mean you can make people buy automobile liability insurance. “And the combined impact of the burden of people not being insured on the rest of us economically is nowhere near that of health care.” Now of course CNN is better known as Communist News Network, or even more recently Client Nine Network with the hiring of Elliot Spitzer.

The Chinese aren’t stupid. They see clueless idiots like Ben Bernanke devaluing the dollar so much that they want to get out of holding our debt as quickly as possible. After April turned out to be the worst month for the since last September, CNSNEWS reported China has decreased its holdings of U.S. Treasury securities since last October. Since September 2008, when they eclipsed Japan, entities in mainland China have been the largest foreign owners of U.S. government debt. But, as indicated by the Treasury Department chart linked here, Chinese ownership of U.S. Treasury securities peaked in October 2010 and has declined in each of the four most recent months reported by the Treasury Department. At the end of October 2010, China owned 1.1753 trillion in U.S. Treasury securities. That dropped to $1.1641 trillion by the end of November, $1.1601 trillion by the end of December, $1.1547 trillion by the end of January, and $1.1541 trillion by the end of February 2011.

“Even mob lawyers are more intellectually honest than the al-Qaeda Seven and their apologists.” [The late William] Kunstler maintained that attorneys are under no obligation to take on every client who walks in the door. Once you took a case, though, it was your duty to give it your all. And because giving his all and zealously ensuring that the client got every available advantage was the attorney’s first duty, a lawyer had to be given a lot of leeway in choosing the clients and causes to which he would dedicate himself. In these chats, there was about Kunstler a refreshing absence of twaddle about the lofty nobility of his choices, a marked contrast to the drivel that flows from the pen of Conor Friedersdorf. At The Atlantic on Thursday, Mr. Friedersdorf delivered himself of what, even by his standards, was a shrill rant , provoked by my recent column on the hypocrisy of the Lawyer Left, which finds the American people’s support of traditional marriage too distasteful to defend but can’t queue up fast enough to volunteer its wares to assorted radicals, psychopaths, and deadbeats. Read the whole thing; it is a fine beat-down of the kind of lying leftist lawyer rhetorical spinning we see everyday in service of an ideology that can’t stand on its own merits. To most Americans, the progressive punch-list is deeply unpopular. Fortunately, progressives like Friedersdorf are much smarter than the rest of us — just like our progressive president, who, we learned from the Washington Post’s Dana Milbank this week, is actually too smart to be president. Part of what makes them so smart is their Alinskyite penchant for coopting causes and language. Friedersdorf is a “conservative,†don’t you know, skilled at cloaking legal radicalism in high-minded tropes about fidelity to our constitutional traditions. Life is too short for me to follow Friedersdorf’s meanderings, so I confess to not knowing whether he is a lawyer. Suffice it to say, though, that he doesn’t know much about the law or our constitutional system. It’s a con job. The Lawyer Left promotes a cause, not the Constitution. They’re within their rights to do that — it’s still a moderately free country, and I’m not suggesting that anyone try to destroy their lives and livelihoods like they tried to destroy Yoo’s. I just don’t see any reason to pretend that their choices reflect a high calling rather than a practical political strategy, one that has implications when Americans make the mistake of empowering them to formulate policy. Yep, that’s gonna leave a mark.
