Fox 5 News in New York has reported Thursday that one of the investors in the Ground Zero Mosque project contributed money to a terrorist organization! His name is Hisham Elzanaty and he is Egyptian born businessman. According to Fox 5 , Elzanaty gave $6000 to an organization called the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, also known as HLF. He gave the money to the terrorist organization in 1999. Of course, along with the revelation of this, Elzanaty has an excuse. His attorney has told Fox 5 News exclusively that Hisham Elzanaty believed he was making contributions to an “orphanage”. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never confused a terrorist organization with an orphanage. IPT’s Ray Locker claims even back then TV and newspapers were reporting suspicions of the group’s ties to terror. “If you gave money (to HLF) in 1999 you probably had some inkling that HLF was giving money to Hamas and therefore to terrorist operations,†Locker says.

Turns out that Obama soul mate Deval Patrick, Governor of Massachusetts, is no Glenn Beck fan. Michael Graham of WTKK asked Patrick a simple question and got a surprising answer. Graham’s question: “Do you have a problem with Glenn Beck having his rally at the Lincoln Memorial?†Patrick’s response? “It’s a free country. I wish it weren’t.†Keep in mind that Patrick and Obama have a lot in common. They are both creations of puppet master David Axelrod. Axelrod created similar campaign mantras for both: “Yes We Can†for Obama and “Together We Can†for Patrick. Oh, one other thing they have in common. Lousy approval ratings.

Could the people in Washington state actually be waking up to the disease of progressivism too? The latest Rasmussen poll puts Republican Dino Rossi ahead of Murray by 2 points at 48% to 46% . The poll was a statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters in the state. Three percent (3%) prefer a different candidate, and three percent (3%) are undecided. All prior polling done by Rasmussen of Rossie/Murray had Murray ahead by a couple of points. Last month a Survey USA poll had Rossi with a 7 point lead over Murray at 52-45%. That was the first poll to show the Republican Rossi beating Murray.

No compromise. No mutual respect. No mutual understanding. No generous response to a generous overture. Just, as always, demands for unilateral and unreciprocated accommodation. “Paris mosque slams burger chain’s Muslim outreach,” from The Associated Press , September 2 (thanks to Block Ness): Note to big companies hoping to tap into France’s lucrative but long-neglected Muslim consumer market: Pitfalls may await, and not only in the form of complaints from the far-right. As of this week, 22 outlets of popular French fast food chain Quick are serving burgers it says respect Islamic dietary law. And while many Muslims are delighted, the powerful main Paris Mosque complained Thursday that Quick’s criteria aren’t all-encompassing enough, and that the operation is meaningless. Quick’s meat is certified as halal, but Cheikh Al Sid Cheikh, assistant to the rector of the Paris Mosque, said the burger chain should have had the other ingredients checked as well, from its mustard to buns to fries. “The rest must be validated too, or else there’s no point,” he told The Associated Press. Quick responded that it has no intention of making any of its restaurants halal through-and-through _ beer is still served there, for example, said spokeswoman Valerie Raynal…. Fateh Kimouche, founder of the French Muslim consumer Web site Al-Kanz, says most of the 40 to 50 outlets in France that provide halal certification aren’t rigorous enough and don’t have their own inspectors to verify that Islamic law is being respected. He says the situation is scandalous, calling it “halal-gate.” “Up to 90 percent of meat marked ‘halal’ isn’t really, and there are big names in French industry that are up to their necks in the problem,” he said….. That’s a good way to get those necks struck (cf. Qur’an 47:4).

Almost half of the energy consumed in Brazil last year came from renewable sources , according to a new study. Renewable energy has risen in prominence in Brazil over the years, growing from 29 percent of the country’s energy matrix in 2001 to 47 percent in 2009. The use of sugarcane ethanol was the main contributing factor to the dramatic rise and the country has become the world’s largest exporter of that biofuel.
